About

A happy and healthy live for all dogs.

Pooch & Mutt’s mission is to ensure that all dogs lead a happy and healthy life. This means not only creating the highest quality products with real benefits for dogs, but also ensuring that they are accessible to as many dogs as possible and doing this all without negatively effecting any dog’s life or environment.

Ethical Production

Pooch & Mutt uses only natural ingredients and ensures that all production is as environmentally friendly as possible. In 2009 Pooch & Mutt was awarded ‘The Ethical Award’ from the Ethical Companies Organisation, part of The Good Shopping Guide. Pooch & Mutt is the UK’s first ethically approved dog supplement specialist.

For more about Ethical Companies Organisation visit: http://www.ethical-company-organisation.org/

Ethical Testing

Pooch & Mutt are approved by PETA (The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for not testing on animals. Pooch & Mutt products are trialed on our own dogs and those of friends and customers, but never on laboratory animals – in fact we were very surprised to learn that some dog foods products are tested on laboratory animals

Company History

Cookie - The inspiration

Pooch & Mutt products are formulated are created by Blue Chip Feed (www.bluechipfeed.com). Blue Chip is one of the world’s most successful equine supplement companies – and the first horse feed company to receive The Ethical Award. Blue Chip was set up in 1996 by Clare Blaskey.

In 2008 her son, Guy, set up Pooch & Mutt. For years people had asked Blue Chip to make products for dogs, then in 2007 the Blaskey family dog, Cookie, was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. This was the impetus that they needed to create the dog range.

Rescue Centres

Ivy: The first rescue dog we helped

As part of Pooch & Mutt’s promise to make sure that health and happiness is accessible to as many dogs as possible we are dedicated to helping rescue dogs whenever we can. We do this in 2 ways:

1. Matched donations. Whenever a rescue centre buys from us we match what they buy with a donation. So if they buy 10 bags, we send them another 10 free of charge.

2. Free donations. If there is a specific dog that is in need of our products we will give send them to this dog free of charge.

Like all dog food/ supplement companies we love getting feedback from our customers telling us how we have helped their dogs and how well they are doing in shows, agility competitions or just in life. However we find it even more rewarding to help rescue dogs and know that we have had a huge, beneficial effect on what has usually been a very traumatic life for them.
